This notice explains what personal information Parkadoo (“we”, “our”, “us”) and our partners collect when you use this website, why, and the choices and rights you have. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, “PECR”).

What we collect and why
- Usage information. When you visit, we (and our analytics and advertising partners) may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site. This helps us keep the site secure, understand how it’s used, and improve it.
- Information you send us. If you email us or submit a vehicle request or dimension correction, we process the details you provide in order to respond and to maintain the vehicle data.
- Aggregate search trends. When you check a car, we add one to a running count for that vehicle and its result (for example, how many times a given model has been checked, and how often it fits). These counts are anonymous and aggregate only — we never record who looked something up, when an individual visit happened, or any other detail about you. We use this to understand which vehicles and results are most common, and may use it to publish general trends (for example, in blog content) or as aggregate statistics about the vehicle market.
Parkadoo is a simple public tool — we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them in the following broad categories:
- Essential — needed for the site to function and to remember your cookie choices.
- Analytics — help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.
- Advertising — set by advertising partners to serve and measure ads (see below).
Non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising) are only set where required consent has been given. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on the site, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We may show third-party advertising to help keep Parkadoo free, including Google AdSense. In connection with this:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to Parkadoo and/or other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google’s “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”.
Media.net
We may also show advertising served by Media.net, a contextual advertising partner. Media.net and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on the content of the page you’re viewing and, where consented to, your prior browsing. Details of Media.net’s data practices are in their privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising from Media.net and other participating networks at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
Lawful bases
We rely on our legitimate interests to run, secure and improve the website, and on your consent for non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising). Where you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share information with
We share limited information with service providers who help us run the site, including our hosting provider, analytics providers, and advertising partners such as Google. We may also share information with professional or legal advisors where necessary, or where required by law.
How long we keep information
Some information is short-lived and cleared after your visit; other data (such as aggregate analytics) may be retained for a reasonable period to help us understand trends and improve the site. Cookie consent is refreshed periodically, and at least annually.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email mail@michaeljamesautomotive.com.
Complaints
If you have concerns about our use of your personal data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
